2 cups sugar
1-cup milk
1-tablespoon butter or oleo
teaspoon soda
1-teaspoon vanilla
2 cups chopped pecans

Boil sugar, milk, butter and soda until mixture forms a soft ball when tested in cold water. Add vanilla and nuts. Beat until creamy. Drop on wax paper.

NOTE: Cook over medium heat. Stir now and then. The soda makes it boil high, so use a 10-cup pan!
