Fresh Plum Apple Crisp
4 fresh plums washed, pits removed and chopped into bite size pieces2 Granny Smith apples cored and chopped into slices
1 teaspoon powdered allspice
½ teaspoon powdered ginger
¼ teaspoon powdered cinnamon
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
½ cup white or wheat flour
1/3 cup light brown sugar
¼ cup butter
9- inch pie pan
Wash and core the plums, then slice into bite size pieces and put aside in bowl. Core and remove seeds from apples, slice into bite size pieces and mix in bowl with the plums. Add the allspice, ginger, cinnamon and sugar mix well. Meanwhile in separate bowl mix the flour, light brown sugar and butter. Cut the butter in slowly until the mixture is crumbly. When you cut in butter you generally add it it in small lumps using a knife to cut or break it into the flour and sugar mixture. Add the fruit mixture to a 9-inch pie pan that is well greased. Top the fruit mixture with the crumb topping that is in the other bowl. Cover the fruit in the pie pan evenly and on all sides. Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Bake the crisp 45 minutes in the oven. Remove and cool. Serve topped with whipped cream.
