Orange Frosted Cranberry Cookies

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 tsp. grated orange peel
2 Tbsp. orange juice
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp.salt
2 cups coarsely chopped fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup chopped nuts, if desired


Heat oven to 375F. Beat sugars, butter, orange juice, orange peel, and egg in large bowl at medium speed. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in cranberries and nuts. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until light brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack; cool completely. Frost with Orange Frosting.

Orange Frosting:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
2 to 3 Tbsp. orange juice


Mix all ingredients until smooth and spreadable.
