Cider Pound Cake

3 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 1/2 cups butter (3sticks), softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup cider

Preheat oven to 325. Grease a 10 inch tube or bunt pan. Mix together the dry ingredients, and set aside. Cream the butter then gradually add the sugar, beating well. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in the vanilla. Add the dry ingredients to the cream mixture alternately with the apple cider, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool the cake for 25 minutes before removing it from the pan.
