Cherry Nut Pound Cake

1 1/2 C. Crisco shortening
3 C. granulated sugar
3/4 C. milk
Pinch of salt
6 eggs
3 3/4 C. all-purpose flour
1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
1/2 C. nuts
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract


Mix all ingredients and pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake 2 hours at 275ºF.

Frosting
3 oz. cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1/2 C. coconut
1/2 C. nuts
2 C. confectioners' sugar


Pour frosting over cake while hot.
