Chicken Parmesan

3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 egg - beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup parmesan
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 T margarine
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1/4 tsp basil (or a few sprigs fresh, shredded)
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
6 oz. sliced mozzarella cheese


Pound chicken flat. Combine egg, salt & pepper. Dip chicken into mixed bread crumbs & parmesan cheese. Melt margarine in skillet. Saute chicken until brown. Place in baking pan. Combine tomato sc. w/basil and sugar. Pour over chicken. Top each with slice of mozarella. Bake at 375* for 30 min.
